“I’m not saying it isn’t suspicious,” Sam says, “but we should look at the other staff as well. I found out quite a lot from the receptionist. We can rule out the yoga teacher—she’s going on retreat tomorrow and won’t be back until after the exhibition’s finished. And two of the other staff members are leaving for their vacations in the next few days. But the two janitors have access to the whole building and a good excuse for being there a lot. And the receptionist was going on about how the memorabilia must be worth a fortune and she wishes she had some money to go on vacation like everyone else. We should spend some time on them too. We haven’t even checked out Mrs. Rushka yet.”

“Okay, but we don’t have time to mess around, you know.”

“We don’t have time to get it wrong, either,” Sam snaps. “Until we’ve got evidence, we should look at everyone.”

Luckily the bus pulls up and ends the conversation. Why can’t she just trust me? Maybe the whole idea of us being a spy team wasn’t such a great idea after all.
